State Requirements

Below is a list of continuing education requirements for Kansas and Missouri. This information is subject to change without notice.

Kansas

  • 18 hours every two years for licensed Producers (this must include 3 hours of Ethics) – this applies to those licensed in L/H only, P/C only as well as L/H AND P/C.
  • Your license now renews the last day of your birthday month renewal (the year is determined by the year you were born … EVEN or ODD year)
  • Any extra "ethics" hours can be used as "general" hours as long as they are not duplicates.
  • If you are licensed in both lines, you will no longer need to worry about how many hours you get in each line. As long as at least 3 of those hours are Ethics.
  • Kansas still does not allow for "carryover" of extra hours
  • Flood:: Producers who sell Flood insurance must complete a one-time 3-hour course on NFIP Flood Insurance. This is a one-time requirement.
  • Partnership Program Long Term Care: Producers who participate in the sale of Partnership Program Long Term Care policies must complete a 4-hour course initially.   • There will be a $4.00 renewal fee to renew on www.nipr.com.

Missouri

  • 8 hours every two years for Title Producers
  • Your license now renews on your birthday following your old renewal date. Click here to confirm your renewal date: License Manager (naic.org)
  • Any extra "ethics" hours can be used as "general" hours as long as they are not duplicates.
  • Courses must be in license type held (if licensed in L/H and P/C, any course is allowed).
  • Excess hours may be carried over to the next renewal period.
  • Flood: Producers who sell Flood insurance must complete a one-time 3-hour course on NFIP Flood Insurance. This is a one-time requirement.
  • Partnership Program Long Term Care: Producers who participate in the sale of Partnership Program Long Term Care policies must complete an 8-hour course initially (I do not provide this).Renewals require completion of a 4-hour course on Partnership Program Long Term Care every biennium.
